ŌHIA Intensive Crystal Singing Bowl Teacher Training

Explore the world of sound and your individual way to share the gift of crystal bowl sound baths. In this 40h intensive weekend course in November & December 2024 you will learn about the fundamentals of sound baths and their transformative effects on body, mind, and emotions.
What is a Sound Bath?
A sound bath is a powerful and deep journey into sacred sound. You lie down and feel a refreshing bath of vibrations – alchemy or crystal singing bowls and a wide variety of other ancient sound-healing instruments. Once the room is engulfed with these ancient cosmic vibrations, you will immerse yourself into a state of deep relaxation and inner peace. Leaving your always “on” existence behind and getting in touch with your deeper layers of consciousness. Moreover, the sound promotes circulation, energy flow and rejuvenation on a cellular level.
This training is for you, if you want to facilitate sound baths, enrich your existing practice (yoga, meditation, coaching, psychotherapy etc.) with the healing power of sound or if you simply want to immerse yourself in sound and integrate it into your personal life.

The training will take place on 4 in-presence weekends in November & December, in addition to self-study and practice time in between.

Program
- Learn the theoretical and practical foundations of sound work
- Discover how to use sound to promote health, wellbeing and spiritual growth
- Dive into your personal practice with crystal bowls and start sharing your first sound baths in the intimacy and safety of a group of students
- Find out how to create your individual holistic class – from setting the space, holding space, sequencing the experience, the use of different instruments, to breathing exercises and meditation
- Connect with a community of sound practitioners and learn through shared experience
- Learn from other practitioners by visiting Sound Baths at ŌHIA
- Teach your own Graduation Sound Bath and become an ŌHIA Certified Sound Bath Practitioner
Requirements
- There are no specific requirements, except your deep interest in learning and in the healing power of sound.
- If you already have your own set of bowls, that’s perfect. However, you do not have to own Crystal Bowls to participate in the training. A range of bowls will be provided during the training sessions.
Katja Schendel
Katja loves to hold space to explore and learn about sound baths with crystal singing bowls. She is trained in music therapy, several yoga and sound practices and enjoys to bridge science and practice in her sessions. Soothing elements of Reiki and Balinese Massage enrich her holistic practice. She is a Certified Alchemy Crystal Singing Bowl Practitioner, Certified Sound of Yoga Teacher, B.A. Musicology, Certified Balinese Intuitive Massage Practitioner, Reiki Shoden Level, 300h+ Certified Kundalini Yoga Teacher, Certified Hormone Yoga Teacher and Music Therapist i.t.
David Dominguez
David enjoys sharing the transformative power of meditation, sound and music with others. He is trained in classical music, meditation and vinyasa yoga, has completed several gong master trainings with Jens Zygar, Kay Karl and Don Conreaux, and is currently completing his mindfulness meditation teacher certification with Jack Kornfield and Tara Brach.

Payment
50% will be due immediately to secure your place (non-refundable), the rest is due 4 weeks before the start of the training (19.10.2024)

FAQ
What’s included in the training price?
- Premium Crystal Sound Bowls for practicing
- A comprehensive Workbook
- Individual Consultation in cooperation with Alchemy Bowl Studio (if desired) to find the bowl that is right for you
- Free ŌHIA classes during the period of the training, worth 200€ (ŌHIA Monthly Membership), to experience different styles of teaching and deepen your practice
- Not included: Training literature “Sara Auster: Sound Baths – Meditate, heal and connect through listening” (required reading prior to training)
What are the requirements to complete the training with a ŌHIA Certificate?
- Participation in 80% of the modules and an exam (teach your own Graduation Sound Bath) at the end of the training will be required
- Visit at least 5 Sound Bath classes @ ŌHIA during the training + Self-Study & Practice time
Can I participate even if I don’t live in Berlin?
This is an in-presence training. But you can travel from another city, staying in Berlin for one night (not included in training price). On Saturdays training begins at 16:00 and ends at 21:30, Sundays at 13:30 – 17:30.
Can I become an ŌHIA Sound Bath teacher after completing the training?
Yes, you can potentially start as a subbing teacher and get your own class later on. To become a teacher, you will need to own a set of bowls/instruments and apply as a teacher with studio management.
